1971 American Pipe Vise Restoration - Restoration Videos
In this video, you will watch an Erie Tool Works branded American made pipe vise which was made in March 1971 get restored.
Are you ready to see everything possible to be done in a pipe vise restoration video be done in detail? I first start dismantling every piece in this vise, vise the which served many years but then were thrown aside. I immerse every single piece in rust remover and let it rest there for a day. The reason for this is because the product is made out of steel. If it was cast iron I would let it sit for a less amount of time. After I took them out of the rust remover, ...

Hola amigo.
Hello, Write me on instagram @meinemechaniker
Outstanding! What you and your ultra-ego do, mymechanics, is pretty cool. Always impressed with your metallurgy, lathe and milling skills. As always, the attention to detail stands out. Well done Sir 👏
Thanks sir
Just like mymechanics, the attention to detail stands out. Well done Sir 👏
Thanks a lot
Isn't Mein Mechaniker German for mymechanics?
No just meine mechaniker feom fein mechaniker, difrent
Is it your intention to be a knockoff My Mechanics or is this all just a big coincidence? It doesn’t take away from your skills, but it sure is strange to emulate another channel so closely
Hello! If you want to make a question or comment about the video, I will be waiting to answer you.
Is this channel related to My Mechanics at all? Weird that he’s German but your channel name is just his in German. Also the logo is similar. Are you the same guy..?

Bom dia!' Grato!
I’m in the middle of the restoring this car for my baby. What tool is that you “spray” on to loosen the rusted screws? I’m a beginner
Wd40
Vise or vice? Please don’t confuse this rookie.
both are correct. Varies depending on geography
Did you just welded the handle!?
No, I made that resource this time last year.
A art made
Outstanding craftsmanship... You do an amazing job
It's an awesome cleaver, but you made it too nice. You should have just cleaned it, tempered it, sharpened it and gave it a new handle. You took a lot of character and charm from it. It's not the same blade anymore. Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful, but it's too perfect for what it used to be. If that makes sense. Great video.
you have a great perspective

spot on
Restoration vids are so satisfying
Is this channel just a rip-off of My Mechanics? Because your channel is literally just the German translation of "My Mechanics" and you joined YT a year later than him, with a channel that is basically the same, doing the exact same stuff, in the exact same format and style.
Magnificent restoration, but I don't understand the "chrome" procedure...
why didnt you mention in the video thats its a reproduction or did you not know? because it’s barely 20 years old i got two original ones one of which im restoring the other for parts the original ones were made by murray in the late 40s to the early 50s and they were called either a comet or torpedo only difference was the torpedo sometimes had holes in the side and different chrome trim pieces than a comet but same body style
Thanks for info
The work requires meticulousness. Thank you for sharing
Beautiful...
Beautiful results and what a fancy collection of tools!
Was looking forward to watching this UNTIL I saw the rubber gloves.👎👎👎
🥷
Perfect Craftsmanship as always. Thank you dear friend , I had great time while watching. Especially the retro red color is stunning. Stay safe Gentleman, Cheers 🥃
How nice to see you my dear friend. You are so right about the color. A great retro red. Like tango women's shoes or tango women's red lips 💃🕺 cheers my dear friend 🥃
Incredible
Thanks Ali

A masterpiece.
Stunning transformation really impressive.
Thanks sir
Wow, this is what happens when perfection is your goal. Beautifully done.
Thanks sir
I have watched this twice! I've watched others just once which all are good. I just got a 350 (stationary) unstuck that has been froze for years. 4-88 stamped. I will be using it when complete. All it is missing is the convex end cap which l have not been able to find. Even on Wilton site, discontinued. I may have to settle for a engine freeze plug if l can't find one? Beautiful vise sir! Meticulously done! Thank you for the motivation!!!
Try to find or make it yourself. If you can't find it or can't do it, contact me via e-mail. Take pictures of all the measurements with a digital caliper and send them to me. I can help you.
Thats not from.the 50's... thats a reproduction
yup the original ones were higher quality metal and paint
State of art.
Pretty good job for a beginner... 6/10
That was a great restoration, but what were you burning ? So sooty .. the preheat pan was as you know upside down.. click bait ? lol
😅😎
Sweet,awesome,excellent job bro.
How many MPG (or kilometres per liter) does the pedal gar get?
100 km 10,5 lt
He has the tools and knows how to utilize them. Beautiful work.
😍😍😍❤❤❤❤👍👍
wasting so much product.
🤦🏼♂️
What kind of roller did you use to paint the body of the vise? It seemed to leave a nice even texture that mimicked that of a cast iron surface. What brand/color paint did you use? Restoration turned out great!
I used a small and ordinary roller and black cast hammerite paint.
@@meinemechaniker Teşekkür ederim
And now it's absolutely useless. Who would dare to use such a fine piece of art?
🙏🏻
It’s not restoration is it if you are changing parts of the old Rusty Cleaver with new parts ?
🙂👌
I believe it might not be a strong handle if the tang is thinner, having that new handle makes it strong...but that would make this cleaver...an addon?
Fantastic restoration! I imagine it would have to sell for a few thousand dollars considering the hours and tools involved. lol
Thanks sir
